Celtic Footprints

Lead Presenter: Empire State Plaza Performing Arts Center "The Egg"

The Egg's resident dance company recently premiered a new family and arts-in-education show which is available for touring this spring and summer as well as the 2010-11 season.

The Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company (www.sinopolidances.org) in conjunction with storyteller Bairbre McCarthy (www.bairbremccarthy.com) have created Celtic Footprints, a fantastical journey of stories, song and dance to follow the footprints of the Celts from Central Europe to Scotland, Wales & Ireland and then across the Atlantic to Appalachia. Audiences see and hear the myth of the seal people, the legend of the swans, the adventures of Jack (beyond the beanstalk), the fable of Dagda’s magical harp, the hilarious yarn of how Marika got her story and the tale of Norouas, the Northwest wind.

Bios of the artists and descriptions of each of the stories are available here: http://www.sinopolidances.org/celticfootprints.html

Marketing materials and study guides are available to presenters.
