Long Island Children's Museum Theater is an intimate theater for family audiences has been in operation for 7 years. Part of the Long Island Children's Museum (LICM) the theater presents more than 200 performances year around to the public at reduced prices. LICM is a "hands-on" museum and the LICM Theater reflects that philosophy in its design. The audience seats 148 including 5 wheelchair seats with no seat being more than 20’ from the stage. The theater includes dressing room, greenroom, separate load-in, full lighting, sound, and video systems. Patrons of the LICM Theater have often been heard to say: "The best kept secret on Long Island."

Performances in the theater include music, theater, dance, puppetry, cultural, science, circus arts, and educational. LICM produces original school programs on school days. Public programs are offered on weekends and school breaks.
