MISSION
The Paramount Center for the Arts is dedicated to the presentation and production of diverse, high-quality programming in live performance, arts-in-education, visual arts, and film, serving the varied needs and interests of Westchester and Putnam Counties and the entire mid-Hudson Valley region. Created as a nonprofit organization in 1981, the Paramount Center for the Arts is located in an historic landmark theatre built in 1930 by the renowned architect firm of Rapp & Rapp.
DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAMS
PCA’s current activities and programs include the following:
1) On Stage: A full season of high-quality live performances of music, dance, and theatre, featuring both established and emerging professional artists and companies.
2) On Screen: A film series of first-run independent and foreign films.
3) Family Series: A series of multicultural and multidisciplinary performances that take place on weekend afternoons and evenings at low cost to encourage maximum attendance
4) Arts-In-Ed: A series of multidisciplinary arts-in-education daytime performances for area schools and students, and artist residency activities in- and after-school.
5) On The Wall: Year-round visual art exhibitions.
In addition, PCA partners with community groups, other nonprofit organizations, and independent promotion and production companies in presenting events at the theatre.
